There are many who are contempt with their jobs and hence their lives. Cos most part of your adult life, you will be spending at work .Well a few years into working as the cog in the wheel, I knew I wasn't satisfied at all .The only thing I enjoyed was the take home salary every month. But sacrificing most part of your life for that one day in a month of happiness wasn't really worth it if you think. When I was young , I knew this wasn't my space and had to get out.But how ?
I used to work in the Customer support of an MNC bank. There were many who would not share the same views as mine but a few , very few individuals would. Some would say I'm crazy to share view points like calling ourselves " corporate slaves "when deep down they knew that this was true. If you are working for someone else, you are essentially working your ass of to make that person richer. The trade off is that you are offered a steady income at any market condition. There is a Damocles sword that looms above everyone's head of getting the pink slip. But for the most part at least in a country like India, its not very common.
Well at 29 , I quit my job without actually getting a new one. All my well wishers and family were skeptical cos most people quit when they have another one waiting. If you think like most people, then you end up like most people with dead end shitty jobs for most of their lives. Maybe the illusion of power and control in the form of promotion might keep you happy. But understand that when you work for someone else, the harder you work, the more you are trying hard to make that person richer. So how do I get out of the cycle ? you may ask . Well I cant really tell you what you have to do with your life. But what I can tell you is how I got out and maybe if you trying replicating and improvising on what I have done then maybe one day you also will be able to get out of the 9 to 6 jive.
